Mending a Mother’s Broken Heart Welcomes You

My story may help you or your hurting child.

Mending a Mother’s Broken Heart is a blog telling my story.  My story is a sad story as a parent but not a story that others haven’t been through.   It’s a story some don’t like to talk about, a story of a hurting child in deep despair who tried to carry that all himself and was unsuccessful.  My son took his life in his dorm room at college this year, his freshman year.

March 24, 2019 A day you will never forget but wish you could

There is no way to prepare you for this day.   My son was not a problem growing up never got in trouble at school.   We never had issues with him at home either.  He was a hard worker who could be a procrastinator at times (his words) but overall never caused us any issues.   On March 24, 2019 at 10:45 PM a local police officer was at our door letting us know the police department where he was going to college was trying to reach us.  Our son had been found lifeless in his dorm room and it was clear he had taken his life.
The questions just fill your mind simultaneously with the complete shock and disbelief that your child who you have loved and nurtured for 19+ years is gone.   The child you dropped off at school in August with a smile is gone. How can it be?  Why did it happen?  How could I not be there for my child's pain?  We as parents helped him through every childhood injury or suffering and how is it that now he is gone?
